A touching moment with my daughter reminded me of the importance of small gestures. Even a simple goodbye in the early morning can bring comfort and security to a child’s heart.

Morning Goodbye

These days, my wife is away on a business trip, so it’s just me, my daughter, and her grandparents at home. This morning, while I was washing my face in the bathroom, my daughter suddenly spoke to me. She said softly, “Dad, can you say goodbye when you leave home?”

Her words touched me deeply. I realized she might be feeling a little afraid or uneasy. Even though her grandparents are with her, she still seems to worry when I leave early.

I usually get up very early, around 5:30 AM, to go to work. My daughter often wakes up when she hears me moving around, but she needs to go back to sleep until 7:00 AM. Maybe in those quiet, half-awake moments, she notices I’m already gone and feels a little lonely.

From now on, no matter how early it is, I will always say goodbye before I leave. I want her to feel safe and loved, even in those sleepy mornings.
